Paediatrics Ward Project
Target – $75,000
Raised so far – $16,000
|Guyana Help The Kids (GHTK) has worked successfully to develop a state-of-the-art NICU at the Georgetown Hospital (GPHC) site. This facility was opened in March 2012 and is responsible for a decrease in the rate of neonatal mortality by 50 %.
GHTK is now engaging in fundraising to fully furnish a new fifty (50) bed paediatric ward. An Ambassador for GHTK – Mr. Ryan Hinds, is spearheading this fundraising initiative. The current facility is inadequate and ill-equipped to provide optimal care for the most vulnerable of the population. It is currently an open ward which lacks privacy, isolation facilities, furnishings and the necessary equipment to ensure the best possible outcome of patient care.
The hospital has provided GHTK with a new empty fifty-bed ward and has asked us to assist them with furnishings and equipment. This new ward would consist of improved isolation facilities and equipment in an environment that is more children friendly. This would allow the nurses and doctors to better care for patients with infections, cancers, and other critical illnesses.
Make a donation of any dollar amount to this project.
